UNFPA's Meeting with NYPI

UNFPA held its first meeting with the National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI) on March 21. The NYPI is a national research institute dedicated to researching and supporting the development and operation of Korean youth policies since 1989. During the meeting, both sides discussed the problems experienced by Korean youth, and the status quo of Korea's low birth rate. Various solutions were also brought up, while avenues for future cooperation were examined.

In addition, UNFPA had a meeting with the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) on April 18. UNFPA has been continuously cooperating with TCS since 2023. Through this meeting, the two sides discussed domestic issues related to gender and youth participation, and the State of World Population (SWOP) event scheduled to be held at the end of June. UNFPA will continue to bolster mutual cooperation with TCS to hold more joint events in the future, including the Global Symposium on Population Aging and Low Fertility.
